In Lewisham, we were commissioned by a SEL Trust to assess the feasibility of redeveloping a large and complex site, home to multiple healthcare providers. The vision was to create a scheme that could transform the local healthcare estate, consolidating services and improving patient experiences in a purpose-built environment.

Building upon feedback from a previous pre-application submission, we developed a revised proposal that was not only viable but also striking in design. Our work demonstrated how the site could accommodate a state-of-the-art health centre, with integrated facilities to support a wide range of clinical services, alongside complementary uses to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the estate.

Although the project remains dependent on the availability of capital funding, the scheme has been recognised as an exemplar of what could be achieved if investment is secured. Our work has provided the Trust with a clear roadmap, demonstrating how the redevelopment could unlock significant benefits for both patients and staff, and reposition the site as a cornerstone of healthcare delivery in the area.
