HL worked on behalf of South East London, the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Everest Health Partnership in the design and delivery of the centre integrating general practice with community facilities.

The project was an innovation in collaboration which saw general practice being transformed into more than a place to see your GP.

It is fully expected that the Kidbrooke community hub will act as the catalyst to promote the health and wellbeing within the local community and to provide the local community with the genuine opportunity to lead healthier lives. The Kidbrooke Living Well / Health and Wellbeing Centre will provide health and wellbeing services that focus on prevention; support and self-management; the living of healthy lifestyles; and to provide access to a wide range of primary health care services, community services and services delivered through our third sector partners. The intention of the Living Well / Health and Wellbeing Centre is to provide a unified, accessible, sustainable (financially and environmentally), smart, integrated space (with the whole facility managed by a single operator) that can be used and enjoyed by all members of the community and as a resource which the local community can be proud of. The design of the Living Well / Health and Wellbeing Centre will be fit for the future and support and facilitate new digital models of service delivery, and with the highest standards of physical accessibility.

The South East London Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (SEL STP) has placed significant emphasis upon the need to transform the way in which services are delivered to local communities across South East London and in whole systems approach designed to remove the dependency upon our secondary care providers.

HL’s team worked proactively and collaborating with the CCG, RBG and the practice to design the centre that would meet the aspirations however still comply with the confidentiality and standards expected in healthcare design, and subsequently with the contractor Overbury in the delivery of the project.

The project achieved BREEAM excellent and Secure by Design accreditation.
