The Treetops project shows that mid-century buildings are worthy of retention and can be brought up to todays (and tomorrows) level of environmental and design standards. The house is a perfect example on how to conserve and update a classic 1960 domestic architecture.

The project brief was to create a modern house for a family needs in the 21st Century. It would have been far easier to totally demolish and build a new house. Once we discovered the original form and shape of the roof, the design challenge was to create an extension that paid homage to the original.

The client is delighted with the new building and how it sits in its setting. Treetops are a wonderful new house mixing 1960s style with up to date materials, sustainability and function.

Sustainability Credentials (Stage 7)
The Treetops project shows that mid-century buildings are worthy of retention and can be brought up to an excellent level of environmental and design standards. The project uses a 3 phase electric supply, with 48 PV Panels powering the GSHP, the building generates its own energy use.
