HL is pleased to share that the internal renovation work at St Chad’s College, Durham University, has been completed, with external works planned for completion over the summer.
This project has involved refreshing the ground-floor courtyard, relocating the entrance to provide the college with step-free access, with a new reception area, updated student facilities and renovating staff offices.
The renovation included restoring the college’s original parquet flooring through sanding and varnishing. We created a new reception area and added tiling to reflect the Georgian heritage of this Grade II listed building, and created a new meeting room and staff areas.
The main corridor has been revitalised to include window seats for student enjoyment and serve as a backdrop for various college events, including weddings and conferences.
Working alongside Sendrig Construction Limited and suppliers such as CTM Architectural Tiles to preserve the timeless architectural heritage of this prestigious college, located right at the doorstep of Durham Cathedral.
