Shire Hall is the conversion and redevelopment of the Grade 2 listed Old Shire Hall in Durham into a luxury branded Hotel. HL were appointed as Architects, Interiors Designers and CDM PD for the project.

HL worked on this stunning development of an 83-bedroom hotel in the heart of Durham city centre for major hotel brand, Hotel Indigo. Set in the former university offices at Old Shire Hall, Hotel Indigo Durham is just the right mix of luxury and elegance.
Extensive research of the local area of historical Durham provided the inspiration behind the interior scheme for the building. We worked on the entire building from bedrooms, coffee shop and bar to the gym, conference facilities and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill. Everything has been designed to the highest specification and most intricate detail.
