PD Ports Harbour Masters

PD Ports Harbour Masters

20190514_135836
Side of Building

The refurbishment and adaptation of an existing 1996 marine fire station into a new state of the art Harbour Masters Facility.

The ground floor is a large open plan office with kitchen and toilet facilities including accessible toilets and lift to first floor viewing/VTS area and upper toilet facilities. All are centred round a lightwell which takes light from the roof lantern and funnels it to the ground floor. To the perimeter of the building there are several private offices, meeting rooms as well as a kitchen, lockers and a lift.
The internal floor areas have been increased by enclosing the original corner balconies allowing for a more logical shape and layout. To aid visibility along the river to the east a balcony has been added to the north elevation. This is accessed from the main VTS area via two doors located either side.
