We are delighted that the planning application for the new Arts Suite at Dame Allan’s School, Newcastle was approved unanimously by Newcastle City Council planning committee on Friday, 15th May 2020. The application is the first (and only so far) project to be determined via a virtual planning committee and the event went through very smoothly, with all the councillors and officers rising well to the challenge of the current situation and adapting to new ways of working to allow developments to continue. The application was determined within the target timescales.
As the designers, Howarth Litchfield were really pleased with the comments from the councillors around the project being ‘well designed’ and ‘well thought out’, it is always welcome to have this commented upon in such an open forum. We have worked closely with the planning team and are pleased that all the hard work on all our behalf paid off so smoothly.
