We are pleased to announce that the Planning Application has now been submitted on behalf of the Department for Education and Sugar Hill Primary School for the construction of a new one-storey replacement Primary School building with associated car parking, landscaping, outdoor play spaces and facilities at Sugar Hill Primary School site, Newton Aycliffe.
Howarth Litchfield has worked with the Sugar Hill Primary School senior management team, Department for Education and Tilbury Douglas to deliver a high-quality educational facility with a multitude of internal and external spaces across the site to facilitate School’s curriculum model. The proposed design aims to support School’s aspiration to equip their children for life in the 21st century. The project is planned to move to site at the end of this year.
Paula O’Rourke, Sugar Hill Primary School Head Teacher is pleased with how well Howarth Litchfield have worked with her and her school team to develop the final designs for submission stating:
“From the start of this process, at the Bidders Day presentations, it was clear that Keith (Keith Handy, Director) and his team had listened to what I required for my school, giving us the one storey design I had asked for, taking into account all that is unique about Sugar Hill.
The whole team took the time to talk to me and visit the school outside of the CEM process to ensure I was happy with designs. Each classroom was designed to meet every requirement, fitting in with the individual way we teach our curriculum at Sugar Hill. The whole process has been made so much easier due to the whole team, their patience, diligence, and always a very professional way of working.”
