It is a week of HL staff achievements, with two of our team members being acknowledged for their hard work and dedication in their chosen fields.
Firstly, is Juan Lopez, who has been notified that he has successfully passed, with Merit, his Architect Part III study with Newcastle University.
Juan joined HL in February 2024 as a Part II and started his Part III in the same year. Although the completion of this qualification marks the end of Juan’s academic journey to becoming an Architect, it marks the start of being a fully-fledged Architect.
We are looking forward to his graduation and official registration with ARB, but what we are all extremely excited to see is his next steps in his career.
Secondly, is Luke Morley, our newly qualified Architectural Technologist. He was invited to present his research paper at this year’s International Sustainable Ecological Engineering Design for Society (SEEDS) Conference on behalf of Leeds Beckett University.
His subject, “How Local Materials Can Improve Cultural Identity, Enhance Environmental Resilience, and Help Tackle Climate Challenges within Regions,” was presented to a diverse audience that included members of the world’s top 50 engineers.
Not only did he have the honour of presenting at the conference, but he was also awarded the 2025 ISEP Award, which entitles him to a one-year affiliate membership with ISEP. Additionally, he was notified that his research will be published, marking this as his first research publication (hopefully first of many).
