A Conservation Management Plan (CMP) is an extensive evaluation of the significance of an historic building or site, together with a detailed management and conservation strategy for the years ahead.

It allows the owners of historic buildings to understand the heritage asset and protect its significance. The Heritage Lottery Fund will generally require a CMP before considering an award for a conservation based project.
