Howarth Litchfield was invited to attend a careers day at one of its local schools, Durham Johnston Comprehensive School, on 18th March to share with pupils what it means to be an architect.

The HL team developed some really good information on what it takes to become an architect and the various training routes available, including the traditional university route, alongside the new apprentice route. For this session, we had Juan Lopez and Tom Andelin who are currently going through both respective routes.

Agnes Fleming and Hannah Angus’s session provided an insight into the different work stages involved in an architectural project, sharing a recent school model via VR headsets which went down a storm with the pupils.

In total, over 800 pupils from years 10-13 attended the event throughout the day and it was great to see so much positive engagement and listening.
