Instead of sending Christmas cards this year HL and all of its staff have chosen to support and make a donation to the Childrens Christmas toy appeal.
It is a local charity based in Consett, ran by Councillor Kathryn Rooney. The charity works directly with social services to provide a list of children with presents, who genuinely will get nothing this year meaning that the presents will go to those who will cherish and appreciate them.
Last year the charity had a list of 32 children, but this year the list has grown to over 100. The charity covers predominantly County Durham, but following requests they are extending help to the Hexham area as well.
